5 Hills i will die on as as boudoir photographer

My big takeaways from 7 years and hundreds of clients

If you’ve been around my world for a bit, you already know I don’t do surface-level.

This work is layered. It’s emotional. It’s transformative in ways that go far beyond what ends up in a photo.

Over the years, after working with so many incredible humans, there are a few things I have come to believe so deeply that I will stand by them every single time.

These are my truths. The hills I will die on.

1. The experience is more powerful than the photos

Don’t get me wrong… the photos are stunning. They will absolutely take your breath away.

But what stays with you?

It’s the way you felt.

The moment you realized you could take up space.
The shift from nervous to fully in your body.
The way you saw yourself differently, even just for a second… and then couldn’t unsee it.

That feeling doesn’t fade.

The photos become a reminder of it, but the experience is where the real shift happens.

2. “Sexy” is not a body type. It’s a mindset.

There is no one look that defines sexy.

It’s not a size.
It’s not a number.
It’s not about fitting into anything.

It’s presence.
It’s energy.
It’s the moment you stop asking for permission to exist the way you already do.

Some of the most magnetic, powerful moments I’ve ever captured had nothing to do with a body “type” and everything to do with someone owning who they are.

That is what reads in photos. Every single time.

3. Timing matters… and it will never be perfect

There are absolutely moments in life that feel more aligned than others.

Times when you feel more open. More grounded. More ready.

And that matters.

But here’s the other side of that truth…

If you wait for everything to feel perfect, you will be waiting forever.

There will always be something. A reason to push it off. A version of you that feels like she needs to come first.

So yes, timing matters.
But perfect timing? It doesn’t exist.

4. Even when the session is a gift… it is always a gift for you first

A lot of people come in thinking this is for someone else.

A partner. A wedding gift. An anniversary surprise.

And yes… they will love it. Probably more than you expect.

But what happens in the room?

That part is yours.

The way you reconnect with yourself.
The way you see yourself.
The way you walk out just a little bit different than when you walked in.

That doesn’t belong to anyone else.

This experience will always be a gift for you first.

5. How you feel walking into your session matters just as much as how you look

You can show up exactly as you are, with zero prep, and I will create something beautiful with you.

That is what I do.

But the truth is, your headspace matters.

Your energy matters.
Your connection to yourself matters.

Because that is what brings everything to life.

It’s not about being perfect. It’s not about needing to feel 100% confident.

But it is about being willing to meet yourself where you are.

To show up.
To be present.
To let yourself be seen.

A final thought…

You don’t need to earn this experience.

You don’t need to change anything about yourself to be worthy of it.

But you do get to decide when it feels right for you.

And whenever that moment comes…

I’ll be right here.

Thinking about your own session?
Let’s start with a conversation. No pressure, no expectations… just a space to explore what this could look like for you.
