Before We Begin, Please Know, It’s Okay (and perfectly normal) to Feel Nervous

Almost every client walks in saying the same thing: “I’m excited… but also kind of nervious.”
That’s completely normal, and expected…especially if this is a new experience and outside of your comfort zone. This is also why our sessions at Dark Moon Studio are designed to support and honor you from start to finish.

This isn’t about being perfect. It’s about being real, raw, and beautifully human. We are here to guide you through the rest. We are so excited to walk you through what you can expect when you book a Full-Service Boudoir Session with Dark Moon Studio.

1. The Warm Welcome

The moment you walk through the studio doors, it’s your time to exhale.
Most clients start by taking in the studio, which is a lovingly curated space designed to bring you comfort and allow you to step into something that feels luxurious and cozy. Music playing softly. Candles lit. A robe and choice of beverage waiting for you.

We’ll start with a quick tour, a look at your wardrobe selections, and a relaxed chat about your hair and makeup look over coffee or champagne.
This is where nerves melt away. You’re not here to perform or to nurture anyone other than yourself. You’re here to simply be.

2. Professional Hair + Makeup

Your transformation begins with one of our trusted and talented stylists…this is the extra touch of magic behind every confident look you’ve seen in our portfolio.

This is not a “one look for everyone” type experience. We’ll design a look that fits you: whether that is soft and romantic, glam and dramatic, or effortlessly natural.
During this time, we chat, laugh, and make sure you feel grounded and comfortable before we ever pick up the camera.

3. Wardrobe & Styling

Once you’re pampered and glowing, we’ll dive into wardrobe styling.
You’ll have full access to the Dark Moon Studio client closet — a curated collection of lingerie, body jewelry, accessories and editorial pieces.

Together, we’ll select 3–4 looks that highlight your favorite features and match the mood you want for your session.
Think artful, not just sexy.

4. The Session: Step into the Light

This is where the magic happens and where you really get to step into the experience.

I’ll guide you through every pose, every movement, every breath.
You don’t need to know what to do, that’s my job. I’ll show you how to angle, arch, and move in ways that feel natural and cinematic.

Between sets, we’ll laugh, pause for breaks, adjust outfits, and check in to make sure you’re feeling incredible.

By the halfway point, you’ll forget the camera is even there and we will both loose track of time.

5. The Reveal: Your First Look

Within about one week, you’ll return for your private reveal appointment.
This is where you’ll see your images for the first time — often with tissues nearby and a few happy tears.

We’ll go through your favorites, select your final images, and begin designing your Luxe Album or fine-art prints together.

It’s the moment where you finally see what everyone else sees in you — and it’s always powerful.

6. Beyond the Session

Your experience doesn’t end when the camera clicks off.
You’ll leave with more than photos — you’ll leave with proof. Proof that you are art, that you are strength and softness intertwined.
